Aim:

  • learning how and what our parents and grandparents learned at school;
  • compare our daily school lives with those of our parents and grandparents.

Tasks:

  • interviewing parents and grandparents, creating memory records, presenting work to classmates;
  • meeting Azanda’s grandmother, Silvija Saulite, and the former history teacher, Aina Rone, and after seeing photographs make conclusions of children’s lives in school in pre-Soviet times, during Soviet times and after Soviet times compared with today’s.
  • listen to classmates Azanda narrative about her experience in school in England.

Assessment of pupils on the work of these projects:

  1. We found out a lot of interesting in the course of the project;
  2. It was interesting to work with classmates;
  3. It was interesting to interview parents and grandparents;
  4. It was interesting to study the old photographs;
  5. We found out how our parents dressed during school;
  6. It was fun because there were relaxed atmosphere (no lessons);
  7. It was interesting to listen to Azanda’s grandmother’s story, because she talked in a fascinating way, teaching us the games of her school years.
